The article discusses the socio-political updates related to various nations. As the tragic refugees of the last war begin to leave the concentration camps, new armies of refugees march behind them, not less tragic than their precursors. In every country, indeed, there are those who listen with pride to their statesmen's boast of unbreakable strength or of irresistible weapons. It is not surprising that there should be everywhere a mood of doubt and disillusion. Strange faiths all over the world draw to themselves new votaries who hope in their embrace to find the secret of escape from the fears, which threaten them. Fanaticism increasingly denies the calm, which permits reasoned reflection upon differences and thus bars the road to the sane compromise that all people desire.
