The article presents information about the World Bank on Wall Street. The first bond offering of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development proved a smash hit in Wall Street. Although the issue was a large one $250,000,000-the demand was still larger and investment houses were allotted only a fraction of the amounts called for by customers' orders. When dealings started on the Stock Exchange, bidding was lively for both the ten-year and twenty-five-year bonds, which opened at premiums of two and over three points respectively. In setting up the issue the bank's management took great pains to enlist the interest of security houses throughout the country.
