This article reports on the opposition shown by Eastern European countries against the American foreign aid policy. The Soviet High Commissioner on the Allied Council for Austria demanded the withdrawal of conditions placed on the American aid program for Austria. The U.S. can still prevent the elimination or reduction of its influence if will reevaluate the forces of Eastern Europe and revive its past policies and approaches. The peasant parties of Poland, Austria and Romania do no represent any more than the Small Holder's Party of Hungary does. The recovery of Western Europe will inevitably help the recovery of Eastern Europe.
