The article focuses on the political regime in Argentina. Although the Argentine regime's maneuvers may fool some officials abroad, the Argentine people refuse to be taken in. Pueblo Argentino, published by a group of distinguished Argentine exiles in Montevideo, carries an important document in its March 1945 issue. It is the text of a public statement signed by two thousand members of the Unión Civica Radical (UCR), which was Argentina's most powerful political party before political parties were dissolved. UCR was made up of moderately liberal elements and always favored a middle-of-the-road course.
