The article presents 10 years back news published in the journal The Nation. More than a week has passed since Nazi dictator of Germany Adolf Hitler's unilateral action on German rearmament was first announced to a panicky world. Much has occurred during the period. England, France, Austria and Czechoslovakia have taken steps to strengthen their defenses against the menace of a rearmed Germany. The Soviet Union has announced that if war must come it is ready to meet the steel of the German invader. The effect of the war scare on Washington has been to spur the formulation of a new doctrine of neutrality.
