The article presents the author's opinion on cultural change in social thinking in Great Britain. The book "Culture and Society," written by the author, depicts a community of effective social values. Its an attempt to recover and revalue the tradition to which he belonged. Further an attempt to begin restating and extending this tradition in mid twentieth century society. Richard Hogart's The Uses of Literacy, brilliantly identified the complex of concerns that seemed decisive. Many events can be cited which might serve to explain the social changes.
