The article presents information on the Festspielhaus, a model opera theatre in Bayreuth, Germany. Fifteen minutes before the performance is scheduled to begin members of the brass section appear on the balcony of the theatre and blow a fanfare. Inside the theatre, there is no applause until the end of the act and no curtain call until the end of the opera.
