The article presents a collection of poems that have been selected from a collection entitled "American Testament." They were written by an apple farmer whose family has lived for generations in eastern Tennessee, in the shadow of the Great Smokies. From the beginning of this present phase of the race problem in the South he has been on record, in letters to newspapers and in poems as yet unpublished, as supporting the forces in his native country which would root out the shameful evil of segregation.
