The article discusses British Prime Minister Sir Anthony Eden's trip to the U.S., where nothing was mentioned about his actions and comments. The need for Anglo-American solidarity and his signature on the documents which proclaim unity but disclose disunity is seen as a disturbing step. Though Sir Anthony knows this well and his main motive of arriving in the U.S. was to get the Western alliance out from behind the diplomatic circles as was placed by U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower's note to the Soviet Union. The Washington Declaration of 1950 did not go any further because it induced Israel and Arab states to negotiate a settlement.
