The article discusses the explosion of Bikni bomb (also called U-Bomb) in March 1954 with reference to the report of the event published in "The New York Times." William L. Laurence, Times's science writer, was the only reporter, permitted to cover the entire Manhattan project which culminated in the explosion of the Bikini Bomb. People considered the bomb as H-Bomb which creates very little radioactivity, but Dr. Ralph Lapp discovered that it was not an H-Bomb at all, but something more deadly, called U-Bomb. And this conclusion forced the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission to admit that the bomb produced a fallout of lethal effect covering the area of 7,000 square miles.
