Under the able chairmanship of the Belgian, Raymond Scheyven, the sixteenth session of the U.N. Economic and Social Council has been handling a most varied list of subjects. With an excitement created by events in East Germany, the fall of Beria and the proposal of a Big Four foreign ministers meeting, it is inevitable that the political aspect of the session should overshadow the economic.
