M. Boniface, prefect of Casablanca in Morocco, proudly claims full responsibility for having suppressed the Communist-Nationalist riots in Casablanca. Casablanca's population is already about 700,000 and in a few years is, expected to reach a million or more. It is the biggest port of Morocco and the only major industrial city. The French in Morocco are not at all like the people one meets in France. Some of them are the sharks and profiteers who came to Morocco to make money quickly by speculating in land values, and buildings and materials, others have an earnest sense of mission and feel intensely superior to the French at home.
