The article focuses on the article "The Shame of New York," published in the journal "The Nation." It also examines the exalted myth of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Furthermore, it also presents information on measurement of butchers. Measures of butchers in the very poorest sections of the city - butchers who were in turn robbing the poor by selling them cheap meats at top prices and by secretly pressing down hard on the scales with their fat. Finally, the article gives a brief insight of danger to civil liberties in the "war on muck," by General Arthur E. Summerfield.
