The article presents information related to U.S. political and social conditions. The new set of officers who were recently elected to head the New York local of AFTRA have asked Representative Francis Walter of the House Committee on Un-American Activities to prove his charge that "a militant Communist faction" is at work in the union. The constitution of the union bars Communists from membership. The Salute to U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower dinners may well mark a revolution in campaign techniques. One minute TV pickups were brought in from dinners at Los Angeles, Boston, Portland, Atlanta, Cleveland, Houston, Detroit, Des Moines, New York and Chicago.
