The article discusses U.S. labor press. The latest report of the U.S. Department of Labor lists 174 national and international unions, with a membership probably exceeding fifteen million, which issue official publications. The report lists an additional 90 state and territorial organizations of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations with papers of their own. Besides these, an undetermined number of periodicals are published by regional; county, and local labor organizations, probably two or three times as many as are listed by the U.S. Department of Labor.
