The article presents the results of the presidential elections of the U.S. and the performance of the Republicans. In the eleven states of the Far West, Dwight D. Eisenhower and Richard M. Nixon made a clean sweep, while four years ago only Oregon went Republican. The vote in Seattle and other industrial areas indicates that labor did not give full support to the political endorsements of its leaders. However, Henry Jackson prevented Harry Cain from rejoining the reactionaries in the United States Senate. Four Republican Representatives were reelected easily; two newcomers beat their Democratic opponents in rather close contests. Governor Arthur Langlie was elected for an unprecedented third term by a substantial margin over an able democrat Hugh Mitchell.
