The article focuses on the speech given at the United Nations about repatriation of Indians. The stalemate on repatriation was welcomed by the majority. The plan was introduced by Mr. Krishna Menon in a sober and distinguished speech. He called upon all member nations to exercise the spirit of war and raise the banner of peace in the world. The Indian proposal thus acquitted the character of a political action of much greater importance than any previous resolution. The plan contains seventeen precise proposals for dealing with the prisoners issue. The first question that everybody asked himself when Krishna Menon ended his speech was to what extent his plan was the result of soundings in Peking. At the moment of writing, India has been persuaded to make some amendments to meet American objections. But apparently the United States delegation is not satisfied.
