This article presents information the recent visit of the U.S. Secretary of State Dean Acheson to Brazil was not accorded, in general, the attention it deserved. Although, news reports intimated that he made the journey to allay the anxiety and discontent prevalent in Latin America because of the changed orientation of the Good Neighbor policy in recent years, but the reasons for this anxiety and discontent were not subjected to much analysis.
