Legalized Gambling Doesn't Pay

Advocates of legalized gambling as socially sound often cite Nevada as the laboratory, which proves their thesis. The Nevada experience does prove one or two things as gambling has been legal there for nineteen years but it does not prove the soundness of legalized gambling. Nevadans may run gambling in Nevada, but it is largely financed by Californians. In addition to serving as California's Monte Carlo, Nevada is an important gateway to the West Coast, and the casinos profit from the large stopover patronage. However, as a tax panacea legalized gambling is undisputedly a mirage, even in Nevada.
