Waters of Jordan. Border Conflict

The current view from the Bridge of the Daughters of Jacob, where Israel has halted work on the Jordan River diversion canal, reveals a band of Syrian soldiers who keep a constant watch for what may well be the most prophetic sign in the Middle East in the last seven years: the appearance of an Israel shovel. When it finally comes--as it finally must--Israel will get water or war. Resumption of the digging that was stopped three years ago due to Syrian protest is now the most dangerous question mark haunting the shaky state of truce between Israel and the Arab nations.
