This article presents information on the book "The Many Lives of Modern Woman," by Sidonie M. Grueberg and Hilda Sidney Krech. The authors, a mother and daughter team, do not offer a formula solution to the frequently conflicting problems contemporary women are asked and ask themselves to face, nor do they, as the jacket blurb implies, pretend to chart a "guide to happiness." Instead, in a series of practical and moderately optimistic chapters, they give a clear analysis of the major tasks of reconciliation besetting women today.
