This article presents information on the book "The Classic Ballet. Basic Technique and Terminology," with Terminology. Historical Development by Lincoln Kirstein, Descriptive Text by Muriel Stuart, Illustrations by Carlus Dyer, with a Preface by George Balanchine. For soundness, for clarity, for succinctness, this manual of basic ballet is the best there is anywhere. it is the hardest to misunderstand. The painstaking drawings `take you by the hand, they show you the step, the course it takes, the point of it; they do everything for you but dance.
