This article focuses on various socio-political developments in world politics. When the General Assembly of the United Nations convenes again in New York on October 14, 1952 the delegates might well pause to consider the distinction conferred on one of the U. N. specialized agencies this week. The American Public Health Association has bestowed its Lasker Award of medicine and public health on George Brock Chisholm, director-general of the World Health Organization. Mean while, what Americans still fail to realize is that acts of the Kremlin, Moscow, Soviet Union often have an entirely different political aim from the one that seems logical in Western eyes.
