In this article, the author presents information on various theatrical productions and motions pictures, specially "The King and the Duke," by Fransis Fergusson. This play was played for three weeks at Circle in the Squire, seemed more the solution to a problem set in theater craft than a real work of theater. The plot advances by prose dialogue-Twain's dialogue, as nearly as the theater permits, which, being faintly recollected, has the effect of poetry. But the author sets his scenes and tops off his big moments with music.
