This article presents information on the concert performance of the musical "L'Enfance du Christ." The concert was performed by the Little Orchestra Society and was regarded by W.J. Turner as one of the finest musicals done by Hector Berlioz. The author opines that the orchestra's playing under Thomas Scherman's direction was a mere production of the notes in which much of the solo singing by Martial Singher, baritone, and Mary Davenport, mezzo-soprano was not very agreeable to the ear. But there were also Leopold Simoneau, an excellent tenor; Donald Gramm, whose fresh bass voice was one of the most beautiful the author has heard in years; and William Jonson's Choral Art Society, which produced sound of extraordinary transparency and loveliness.
