In "The Cave Dwellers," the theatre in which the events of the play take place is described as a "downtown theatre," that is, south of forty-second street, the implication being that the theatres there are ready to be demolished. "Clérambard" is certainly as worthwhile a play as "Tune Remembered," in fact Marcel Aymé's play, which is devilishly anti-clerical. Off-Broadway doesn't always mean below Times Square. The theatre in the Barbizon-Plaza Hotel is a very agreeable one, and the production there of Noel Coward's "Conversation Piece" unsuccessfully produced here in 1934, is one of the best dressed and designed shows to be given under similar auspices.
