The article focuses on issues of cannery workers and canned food industry politics in Sebastopol, California. William Grami, canneries union organizer, was kidnapped and beaten as a result of the politics in the industry. Grami revealed that these canneries are the last in the state to be organized. The workers here are underpaid, and the condition hurts our contracts in other canning industries. He started organizing these workers. Workers reacted violently in this issue. The problem between the union and grower increased. The union insists that due to the attitude of the growers and processor the only possible settlement now is an industry-wide one covering the entire Sebastopol area.
