Business scene has contributed more than anything else to the rise in status of business education. Young men and women increasingly feel the need of explicit classroom preparation before they go out to earn a living. In doing this, they are making certain assumptions, about the value of such training. Today, 185 colleges and universities offer business training, of which more than a. hundred award graduate degrees. There are currently more than 250,000 students in business programs, one-eighth of the total enrollment in all institutions of higher learning. American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business does not, allow its eighty-one member schools to give business courses exclusively; and a strong dose of liberal arts is required.
