The article presents information on whether the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency financed construction of a giant new air base in Guatemala to supply anti-Castro forces with d base of operations against Cuba. All access to the airfield is cut off. Guards carrying rifles ate posted at every approach road. The strip, though its reported 2000 feet length would seem to be rather short for handling jet fighter traffic, can nevertheless manage these planes because it is at sea level.
