The article presents in formation on the reaction of the press regarding activities of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. What the newspapers tell has to be shared with the masses, leaving one with no competitive advantage. Occasionally one picks up a tip from a brother-in-law who had it straight from a fellow who was in Washington in May 1950, and got it from a stenographer he picked up in the Mayflower bar. But reliable as that is, it tends to be sporadic, while for a measly few dollars a year one can assure oneself a weekly flow of vital knowledge from the intrepid authors of these confidential letters.
