Second Round for Israel?

This article focuses on the bilateral relations between Jordan and Israel. Jordan represents the most vulnerable point in the wall of Arab power that surrounds Israel. If Israel can make peace with the Jordan kingdom, it can break the economic hammerlock of the Arab League. For a time it seemed that a quick and comprehensive agreement might be reached early in March, 1950. Both parts of Jerusalem desperately need peace, the exchange of goods, and tourists. Everybody is weary of the barbed wire that still divides the city. It is impossible for a pilgrim to the Holy Places to go through Israel, cross to the old city of Jerusalem, and then come back through Israel.
