In this article, the author focuses on basic causes of anti-Americanism. He reports a conference, in this context, of 120 so-called experts from the U.S. and the countries of Western Europe, who were called to discuss problems of the Atlantic Community. They argued this question among very many others. Anti-Americanism was supposed to be a tough subject to analyze. It was, characteristically, a German-American of international repute who pointed to the disastrous consequences of American intervention in European internal politics, particularly in elections.
