This article presents brief descriptions of various socio-political developments in the U.S. It reports that Governor Orval Faubus has unwittingly advanced the cause of civic freedom in the states of the late Confederacy by illogical tactics. The then President of U.S. gave him a chance to escape from the consequences of his own folly. On the second given chance, the timely intervention of the four Southern governors would have made it possible for Faubus to retreat without complete loss of face. Another issue regarding the organization of businesses on a nation-wide pattern is discussed. It is hoped that this kind of organization can not support segregation policies which are not acceptable nationally.
