The article focuses on issues at stake in Pakistan. Mohammed Ali, Prime Minister of Pakistan, went to Washington at the end of September on the invitation of U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower. He succeeded in enlarging the amount of military aid allocated to his country and in obtaining substantial economic aid. The government of Pakistan has always insisted that it does not control the Constituent Assembly, but this can be questioned. The Prime Minister is also the president of the Pakistan Muslim league, which has a clear majority in the Assembly. Two bills had been passed on September 20 and 21, the last two days of the sitting an act repealing the Public and Representative Offices Disqualification Act of 1949 and one amending the Government of India Act.
