Abstract

Trieste and San Francisco

The article focuses on the relation between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. It has been assessed that the recently held United Nations Conference on International Organization is not to write a charter for a stable peace but to condition the American people psychologically for war with the Soviet Union. The Trieste crisis in Italy has the gravest possibility to over-shadow everything else at the conference, even the reported surrender of Russia on the U.S. desire for a pan-American regional bloc. Trieste, which the Yugoslavs tried to discuss with the British as far back as 1941, is the fruit of the familiar and disastrous policy of postponement.
