The article quotes some lines published in the December 1934 issue of The Nation. The December 5 issue said that the march on Washington D.C. will probably not be led by general Smedley Butler or by any of the gentlemen publicly mentioned in connection with the fascist plot with flared and died recently. But General Butler's assertion that he has had forty-two offers to head a fascist coup is not as funny as it sounds. Nor is it accidental that the air is filled with rumors of such coups. The basic maladjustments from which fascism arises are growing sharper as the months go by.
