The campus of the State University of New York at Buffalo was in turmoil from February 24, 1970 to the start of spring vacation on March 21. Even now the situation is unclear and violence may yet return. But little has so far been written regarding the development of a campus situation which must excite the imagination of anyone concerned with preserving meaningful dissent in a period of increasing anarchy and repression. Facts of the initial outbreak of violence have been established by a report written by three faculty members, working under the Commission of acting President Peter F. Regan.
