This article presents a brief information on the socio-political conditions of various nations. Neither historically nor in terms of current policy, can Americans feel superior to the belligerents in the Nigerian civil war. Each side in the Nigerian conflict naturally sought help from the outside. Nigeria got arms and economic aid from Great Britain, its former exploiter. The Soviet Union supplied important arms aid, including aircraft. The factual pattern of the wire-tap issue in the trial of a reputed Mafia chief and alleged confederates in New Jersey is not disputed. Defense counsel asked for inspection of the wire-tap material insofar as their clients were involved. Frederick B. Lacey, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey and Mafia-buster much in the news, sought the release of the entire transcript--1,200 pages of recorded Mafia conversations. By 1967, two years of rising losses of aircraft over North Vietnam led to general shortages of magnesium in the United States.
