This article presents excerpts from a court case, involving attorney William Kunstler, who was the defense lawyer of the "Chicago 7," in the U.S. District Court of Illinois. Hearing the defense attorneys discuss these things over soup and rye bread in the steamy atmosphere of a Chicago deli, it all sounds like some great game: a battle of wits for fun. For moments in such a discussion one can almost forget that the stakes in the game are prison sentences for seven men, and the possible success of a law that the defense and many other Americans think unconstitutional. Not all the discussion was' as lighthearted.
