The article presents information on several Yiddish poets and their translations. Some of them are "Sabbath Is Gone," by David Hofstein and "A Murder," by Lazer Wolf. Yiddish poetry, which is only beginning to be made available in English translation, started in the late 19th century as the work of self-conscious artists, both in the U.S. and Europe in some seventy-five years it has produced several major figures and has experienced all of the "movements" of modern literature. Poetry in Yiddish continues to be written and published two of the main literary journals which publish Yiddish poetry are "Die Goldene Kait" and "The Zukunft."
