Western art means cowboys and or Indians on the plains and mountains of the American West in the 19th century. The gallery specializes in the art of the West so defined With the present amplification of American art history, until recently fragmentary and amateur, Western Scene art has become of increasing interest. it is one of several styles, parallel or tangential to the received outline of recent art history. It is already very expensive, as high in price as Abstract Expressionism, sometimes higher. Western Scene art is far more extensive than has been generally noticed. There are broadly three main phases. the first, somewhat tentative, exploratory phase treats the Indians in terms of exotic documentary.
