This article presents information regarding choice of Presidential candidates by political parties in the U.S. The Democrats, dominated by their Northern bosses and Southern Bourbons, adopted a liberal-sounding platform and then proceeded to choose as standard-bearers two men who basically are right-of-center. The Republicans, anxious to bide-the fact that their hearts really belong to Barry Goldwater, edged almost imperceptibly to the Left. So far as Richard M. Nixon is concerned, Thomas E. Dewey seems to be his real hero. He does a fair job of imitating the former New York Governor, even down to fashioning his suits with a peculiar Dewey shoulder slouch.
