A unique and widely hailed experiment in listener-sponsored radio is in danger of becoming a casualty to the national passion for non-Communist affidavits. For some time Pacifica Foundation Inc., which operates noncommercial frequency-modulation stations in Berkeley, California has been before the U.S. Federal Communications Commission as a license applicant in connection with each of its three stations. Although the stations are not primarily political, their have followed from the first a policy of presenting a full spectrum of political commentators, with representation for the Far Left, the Far Right and various stages in between.
