The article focuses on the U.S. nuclear weapon disarmament policy. The U.S. economy is severely hurt due to the on-going nuclear power strengthening race. While no politician worth his salt at the ballot box would as yet, dare to embrace disarmament, the hidden forces that eventually move even politicians to rationality are beginning to operate. Recessions come with increasing frequency; unemployment rates continues disturbingly high; the growth rate limps. Facts that discerns from the current situation clearly suggests that military spending is a drag on the overall economy of the nation, and it represents a financial drain to most of the states and awards its beneficence only to the few.
