In this article the author shares his experience of attending a meeting at the auditorium under the Museum of Modern Art to try to capture a capsule of the conflict now abroad on the subject of city planning. The evening of talk, the third in a series co-sponsored by the museum and the Architectural League, was called "The Asphalt Jungle," and was well cast. Peter Blake was a pleasant, but pointed moderator. The speakers were Edmund Bacon, executive director of the city planning commission in Philadelphia and an architect by training; and Edward Logue, Development Administrator of the Boston Redevelopment Authority, who is a lawyer and rather strongly a non-architect .
