The article comments on Kabuki, a form of Japanese drama being staged in New York City. The salient point of Kabuki's three weeks in New York City, as it now emerges in retrospect, is that underlying the spectator pleasure and underneath the good times at parties was more than a healthy respect, was a learning on the part of U.S. theatre people, actors and directors. It may be years before each one has sorted inside himself exactly what his profit was, and the incorporation of elements from Kabuki may take longer before they are visible in U.S. theatres, but a general broadening is immediate. The article discusses the effect of Kabuki could or would have on American theatre.
