The article reports on the heavyweight championship held recently at the Polo Grounds in the U.S. between Floyd Patterson and Ingemar Johansson. A brittle glory at the championship shone at Johansson's face until Patterson threw two rousing left hooks in the fifth round. Even before Johansson fell, the excitement of the event charged the warm evening air. There was so much brightness and gaiety and chaos attendant on the fight that almost everyone seems to have forgotten the accountants. But one man who has not is a strange, stumpy fight manager named Constantine D'Amato, who runs Floyd Patterson and who, through him, probably intends to control boxing. D'Amato had the unshakable loyalty of Patterson, champion from 1955 to 1959, and was champion again.
