The article presents information on a symposium on "Non-Military Defense--Chemical and Biological Defenses in Perspective," at the 137th national meeting of the American Chemical Society held in Cleveland, Ohio. The twelve participants had a common purpose to inform and arouse the people of the U.S. from apathy. Men in responsible positions cautiously raised the curtain as far as permitted by federal security on chemical and biological warfare and defense. An explicit and pervasive premise of the symposium was the existence of the absolute enemy.
