This article presents information on a compilation of poems written by James Dickey. The compilation, titled as "Poems 1957-1967," contains most of Dickey's previous works which were published in his four previous books. His new works are also incorporated in the above mentioned book. The poems being compiled are truly remarkable for imagination in the most literal sense, for their power of grasping and making images. For Dickey, an image is like a special kind of clothing, a charged shape of the outside world that he puts on, in order to connect himself to the world's monstrous power.
