The article discusses some recent issues in the United States. Senator Karl Mundt is so conservative that one finds it hard to conceive of anyone to his right. Imperturbable and happy, he sat at Senator Joe McCarthy's side and assisted in the inquisitions of the Senate Internal Security Committee. He has a plaque from Americans for Constitutional Action certifying to his hyper-Americanism. Washington D.C. may be, the political capital of the United States but New York comes closer to being the information capital, partly because The New York Times is published here. Columnist David Lawrence handsomely acknowledged the primacy of the Times in his syndicated column, which appears in the New York Herald Tribune.
